Mathematician Ya.G. Sinai is 2014 Abel Laureate

• Russian mathematician Yakov Grigorevich Sinai (78), has been chosen for the 2014 Abel Prize, mathematician’s Nobel Prize, by the Norwegian Academy of Science Letters.
• He is one of the most influential mathematicians of the 20th Century,
• He was recognised for his fundamental contributions to dynamical systems, ergodic theory and mathematical physics.
