Work Place Stress Directly Linked To Hypertension

  • A recent study by the Public Health Foundation of India on software professionals has reinforced the belief that environment and stress at work place are directly correlated to hypertension, and that a number of youngsters in India are getting afflicted by it at least a decade earlier than their western counterparts.
  • Typical symptoms of hypertension include high blood pressure, headache, dizziness, and problems with vision, with some people experiencing asymptomatic hypertension.
  • As this is influenced by one’s lifestyle, it can be controlled by going on long walks, consuming fat-free food and engaging in stress relieving activities. Corporate should also intervene to prevent this from escalating and thus help improve productivity.
