What is Precedex, Angiomax and Livalo?

  • It is a drug that is used to sedate those patients who are initially intubated, and mechanically ventilated in Intensive Care Units (ICU).
  • Also known as bivaluridin, it is used as an anticoagulant (a substance that prevents internal clotting of blood) in patients with unstable angina (chest pain during heart attack) when they are undergoing coronary angioplasty.
  • Also known as Pitavastatin, it is used as parallel therapy to diet to reduce elevated levels of cholesterol, low-density llipoprotein cholesterol, apolipoprotein B, triglycerides, and to increase high-density lipoprotein cholesterol.
