April 17, 2014 by Admin Leave a Comment

  • Insulin is a hormone produced in pancreas that regulates blood glucose sugar levels by breaking down excess of glucose and also converting glucose to glycogen to be stored in the liver.
  • Insulin resistance (IR) is a physiological condition in which cells fail to respond to the normal actions of the hormone insulin. The body produces insulin, but the cells in the body become resistant to insulin and are unable to use it as effectively, leading to elevated blood sugar levels.
