- Three US based tech groups have put out petitions for the boycott of Infosys, Manpower and IBM on grounds of discriminatory employment practices that exclude US workers from jobs in their home country.
- It also demands that these companies start accepting applications from qualified Americans in a fair and ethical way.
- The groups have collated references of advertisements on Indian job sites that single out Indian software workers and H1B visa holders for tech jobs. Many ads were even dated a year ahead of possible employment dates.
- Infosys refuted the claims saying it is currently underway to fill over 440 openings in its US offices.
- Nostop, an Indian group also supported the petition in the interest of Indian immigrant workers as the situation is likely to result in, development of hostility towards them and accusations of displacing American workers.
