Universal Art of Poetry Hailed by UNESCO Chief

  • Poetry is, according to chief of UNESCO, one of the greatest form of –
    • Linguistic, Social and Cultural expression,
    • Gives shape to dreams,
    • Strength, hopes and aspirations to make the dreams true.
  • March 21st was announced as World Poetry Day, in 1999.
  • This was done so as to:
    • Support linguistic variety brought in by poetic expression,
    • To provide an opportunity, for endangered languages, to be noticed inside their communities.
