Trans-Pacific Pact may Impact Exports

  • The Trans-Pacific Partnership (TPP) led by the US and 11 other Asia-Pacific countries is likely to impact Indian exports likely.
  • Commerce Minister Nirmala Sitharaman said that TPP has set very high standards and some of them were higher than the WTO norms.
  • She said that it could affect India’s exports in several sectors including textiles, leather, clothing, cotton, yarn and leather.
