Temples Take to Rainwater Harvesting Again

  • TN temples numbering over 1,500 to install more rain water harvesting facilities on temple premises to save water during monsoon showers
  • Temple rain water harvesting plans in tune with TN CM rainwater harvesting plans for year 2014-2015
  • Under the scheme revival of rain water harvesting facilities inside temples will be taken up, entire process is slated to complete by June 30 , ahead of monsoon
  • As per state govt records there are nearly 38,500 temples under it. Of these 1,586 temples have 2,359 tanks, with some having more than one tanks
