Anna University Tie Up With TN Police For Knowledge & Technology Transfer

  • TN police is all geared up to become a world class police. State govt has allocated Rs 25 lakh for initial evaluation purposes.
  • Towards this first of its kind of goal, the State police have roped in IIT-Madras and Anna University to accord a technological edge to its policing efforts.
  • TN Police has entered into a MoU with Anna University for technological collaboration and transfer of knowledge.
  • IIT-Madras to help in assessing the scope of modernisation and chart a course of action for the same.
  • Under MoU, TN police force to be trained in engineering and technology. Anna University will prepare technological projects.
  • TN Police-scientists to work in tandem to develop tools of policing.
  • UAV developed by IIT-Madras to be the first project to be taken up for implementation by TNP Police with help of the two institutions.
  • Collaboration is win-win situation for TN Police and Anna University.
  • Exercise to help university understand need of modern policing tools and develop them for modern policing purposes, a police officer says.
