- A training program was organized for teachers in Assam, by an NGO (Aranyak). It’s objectives were:
- train them well enough so that they can be experts in field,
- teach others what they learn about wildlife conservation, especially their students.
- As a part of this program, 26 teachers were trained at Bansbari range (Manas National Park).
- Awely (a Paris based NGO), works towards preserving biodiversity and endangered species, were partners with Aranyak in this mission.
- A Teacher holds a very important position in society, as they are directly involved in changing thought process of all students they guide through their knowledge and wisdom. Hence they were the NGOs best bet.
- The current training focused on co-existence of humans and elephants.
