Survey Reveals 30 per cent of Citizens are not Aware of Sakala

  • Sakala a service Karnataka Guarantee of Services to Citizens Act provides time bound services from 50 departments as many as 669 services
  • The state government reveals that 30% citizens of state are not aware of this fact and the director of Sakala mission mentioned about the survey done by the government
  • The IMRB conducted the survey with a sample of 10000 people, now the state government has appointed Sakala mitras so that this is effectively implemented and to create awareness
  • The mission is expected to have many applications for volunteers (Sakala Mitra) and who ever are interested will submit the documents through Sakala Call Center and through online
  • The officials said that the response has been good and about 10,000 Sakala Mitras at the rate of one for each gram panchayat and one for each ward in the urban local bodies,”
  • Once the details are received of the candidates the application review will be conducted by the concerned Deputy Commissioners of the respective districts and the candidate’s verification will be followed by Police verification and will send a MOU to candidates
  • These candidates will receive ID cards and will work without any remuneration and the government has mandated that Sakala should not be used for political purposes
  • Training will be provided through IT consultants and post that they will enlighten and bring awareness to people
  • The State government has directed deputy commissioner to conduct scientific study in areas where receipts are low, disposals are less, or obstacles through Sakala Analytics to avail these services are reported and areas where awareness is very low in their respective districts
