Supreme Court Refuses To Stay Bifurcation Of Andhra Pradesh

  • Divisional Bench of Supreme Court has refused to stay the bifurcation of Andhra Pradesh in to Telangana and Semmandra.
  • The petitioners contended that division of the state would breach the spirit of federalism.
  • Albeit the bench refused to stay the bifurcation, it referred the issue to Constitutional Bench saying it involved the questions relating to Constitution.
