Spice Jet Probed by DGCA For Mid-Air Holi Celebrations

• A 2.5 minute Youtube video of a Bollywood song inlieu of Holi celebrations within a Goa-B’lore SpiceJet aircraft went viral.
• Director General of Civil Aviation (DGCA) served a show cause notice & launched a probe into the incident for the following reasons:
  • violation of guidelines for safe flight
  • 1 cockpit member took part, without leaving any cabin crew at the cockpit
  • jeopardised the safety of passengers
  • no permisssion for mid-air celebration was sought (although Varanasi flight did so, but for ground celebrations)
