- To bring back the 46 nurses released by captors and 70 other Indians who have reached Erbil from Kirkuk,a special Air India plane dispatched from New Delhi to Erbil in Iraqi Kurdistan.
- To ensure coordination between us and the Kurdish authorities as well as the aviation authorities a senior Indian diplomat will be present in the plane.
- The nurses could not be rescued earlier, despite their location because it was difficult to extricate them since the land route was dominated by captors.
