Sanjaya Rajaram Chosen for World Food Prize

• Sanjay Rajaram chosen for world food price for his contribution for improvement of wheat crop and wheat production in the world
• The announcement was told by Mr.Swaminathan chairman, global jury of M. S. Swaminathan Research Foundation (MSSRF)
• Dr.Rajaram orgin of Varanasi, Uttar Pradesh a plant scientist was concerned for small and marginal farmers
• The award will be presented on U.N.World Food Day marking a presence of international year of family farming with a cash price of $ 250,000
• Former Director of the Indian Agricultural Research Institute (IARI) and P.C. Kesavan, Distinguished Fellow of the MSSRF said varieties of wheat developed by Dr. Rajaram had been grown on 60 million hectares worldwide
