- Attempts to broker a ceasefire between Israel and Palestine reached no end as attacks resumed after a brief lull. The erstwhile ceasefire was due to strong calls from the world during the festival of Eid-ul-Fitr.
- However, an attack on a refugee camp and hospital in Gaza that killed more than 10 children resulted in Hamas firing back at Israel killing over 4 people and shattered any hopes of a ceasefire.
- Israeli military categorically denied firing at the refugee camp and alleged Hamas to have misfired their own rockets.
- UN Security Council once again appealed to both sides for an immediate, unconditional ceasefire so as to deliver aid.
- US said that international efforts believe Hamas disarmament to be crucial to end the violence.
- Palestinian President is heading to Cairo along with representatives of Hamas and Islamic Jihad to meet Egyptian leaders and discuss a halt to Israel’s aggression against Gaza.
