Rajasthan Govt Launches Massive Water Conservation Campaign

  • Mukhya Mantri Jal Swavalamban Abhiyan (MJSA) launched in 3500 villages in the State by Chief Minister Vasundhara Raje on Wednesday (Jan 27) is touted to be the country’s largest water conservation campaign in rural areas.
  • It will enable 21,000 villages in Rajasthan to become self reliant for their water needs by 2016.
  • While Raje has pledged her salary for 6 months, Ministers have pledged 3 months’ salary and MLAs have pledged a months’ salary to the campaign.
