“We need to discuss various issues including the framing of a policy for finding a permanent solution to the problems of the H-K region through the effective intervention of HKRDB programmes. The main stress of Karnataka govt was to improve the infrastructure & provide basic amenities in all the towns & cities in the State through Nagorathana scheme which is equally funded by the Centre and State govts. The govt had appointed a high-level committee headed by senior IAS official Jyothi Ramalingam & plans would be formulated for development of the towns and cities in the State based on the recommendations made by the committee. We need to discuss the action plan for Rs. 100 crore sanctioned as the third instalment of the CM’s Package for the tier-II cities. Rs. 55 crore under the third instalment of the CM’s package would be spent for the development of the city roads, Rs. 15 crore for improvement of the drinking water distribution system and Rs. 5 crore for the installation of the CCTV cameras by the police in different parts of the city.”
