“In a first, a Chinese company has built a group of 10 completely 3Dprinted houses, created entirely out of recycled materials, in just under a day. The houses, each covering an area of 200 sq m, in Shanghai’s Qingpu district are made of concrete. An enormous 3D printer — 500ft long, 33ft wide and 20ft high — was used to print each of the structural components of the houses which will cost $4,800 each. The buildings are printed with special “ink” that has been made from industrial construction waste. Such a new type of 3Dprinted structure is environment-friendly and cost effective.”
