President’s Rule in Andhra Pradesh

March 1, 2014 by AmbitionIAS Leave a Comment

President’s Rule in Andhra Pradesh

  • After the resignation of Kiran Kumar Reddy as CM of Andhra Pradesh, Union Cabinet has decided to impose President’s rule in the state.
  • Assembly would be kept in suspended animation.
  • The President’s rule could be inferred from the famous “Bommai Case” where SC ruled that, “situation of impasse” in the state could be a ground for imposition of President’s rule in the state.

Exams Perspective:

  • Bommai Case
  • President’s Rule
