Union Home Minister Rajnath Singh stressed on the need for better coordination between the Centre and State governments
Better co ordinbation facilitated to meet the challenge posed by Maoists to the security forces.
He also emphasised the need for modernisation of police and appointment of young officers who have the zeal and courage to take on Naxalites in their areas of influence.
Mr. Singh addressing the 21st meeting of Eastern Zonal Council (EZC) said: The Maoist problem is the biggest internal security problem the country is facing today and to challenge this menace there should be better coordination between the Centre and the State governments.
He requested the State governments grappling with the Maoists problem to post officers such as DMs and SPs in the Maoist-infested areas.
The four State governments, who are members of the EZC, that the Centre would prove all help.
