- The Punjab police busted yet another drug racket starting from Pakistan, supplying to Delhi clients via Jammu Kashmir and seized 12kg of heroin and 2 pistols. Earlier the police had seized 27kg of heroin.
- A smuggler based in Pak-occupied Kashmir (PoK) had been telephonically operating the racket for the last 5 years.
- Along with heroin, seizure of smack, charas, opium, cannabis and poppy husk also registered an increase, along with substance abuse via consumption of intoxicants of pharmaceutical origin in the State.
