- Study conducted on 11,000 patients by St. John’s Medical College says Indians are more prone to stroke at a younger than their counter parts
- Only 4 % of the patients receive life-saving thrombolytic medication, 7% reach the rehabilitation center and the rest reach at least after 10 hours after stroke attack
- The study was based on patient information from 61 hospitals in 22 States in India and the results were presented earlier this month at the World Congress of Cardiology in Melbourne
- Most of the victims reach cannot resume back their work and some end up doing part time jobs
- The other southern states are better than compared to Karnataka and the state has to take measures to curb the situation
