- Nepal’s 3 major political parties failed to reach an agreement on plaguing issues for the 10th day in a row resulting in the obstruction of the Parliament and preventing pre-budget sessions.
- Madhesi Janaadhikar Forum (Democratic) accused the ruling coalition of breaching agreement on number of issues including constituting a high level political committee (HLPC) comprising of political parties.
- While the CPN-UML and the Democratic parties are in favour of a rotating leadership in HLPC, the UCPN (Maoist) is insisting on a permanent convenorship.
- The HLPC was constituted when an interim technocrat govt was formed and was supposed to ‘guide’ an apolitical govt in its efforts to conduct the election and in governance.
