Obama meets Dalai Lama despite China’s warning

  • Dalai lama who is religious & cultural leader worldwide was greeted by U.S President during a meeting which was refuted by China as that could jeopardize the   relationship betweenn the 2 countries.
  • China had formally insisted that U.S. cancel the meeting with dalai lama at the white house.
  • Beijing also mentioned that it could cause unwanted issues in China’s domestic affairs.
  • Foreign Ministry spokesperson said that Dalai Lama is a political figure who was expelled for undertaking anti-china devisive activities.
  • Dalai Lama gave a statement that he is not looking for Tibetan’s independence in China but only its sovereignty.
