No File Should go through More than 4 Layers: Cabinet Secretary

  • All the files should not pass through more than 4 layers and the government departments have to be brisk in their work
  • Every department should identify forms that are in vogue and shorten them, where possible, to one page only
  • Passing a file goes through many officials and takes a lot of time, cabinet has suggested departments should move to and “collaborative decision making and frequent consultation between departments must be done”
  • Unlike the previous government Modi has made it clear to contact PMO’s office to resolve any dispute
