May 4, 2014 by Admin Leave a Comment

  • 32 people dead out of which 9 bodies were recovered Bodoland Territorial Area Districts of Kokrajhar and Baska
  • National Democratic Front of Boroland (NDFB) is the cause for this and the NIA will investigate further
  • All this started when heavily armed militants shot dead three members of a family, near the Ananda Bazar area, insurgents opened fire at Balapara-I village in neighbouring Kokrajhar, leaving eight persons dead and several injured.
  • Around 100 houses and a wooden bridge was burnt and later the police opened fire in the air after a mob armed with spears and sticks tried to burn the forest range
  • Baksa, Kokrajhar districts were affected out of the four BTAD districts (Baksa, Kokrajhar, Udalguri and Chirang) and several people ran away from their homes seeking for shelter at the relief camps
  • The Chief Minister has told that whoever is found responsible they will be punished and wants to speak to Bhutan as militants may hide there.
  • The NDFB claims there is no involvement in the crime and it’s a planned political conspiracy by the Assam government to trigger clashes between two communities.
