April 12, 2014 by Admin Leave a Comment

  • NASA is set to begin building the spacecraft Origins Spectral Interpretation Resource Identification Security Regolith Explorer (OSIRIS-REx) with instruments to map the surface, and a robotic arm to pick about 60g of sample of asteroid Bennu. It is scheduled to launch in 2016 and return by 2023.
  • This exploration will answer questions regarding:
    • The composition of our early solar system.
    • The source of water and organic materials that made life on earth possible,
    • The size and number of potentially dangerous near-Earth objects
    • The ones best suited for asteroid exploration missions in the future.

Exams Perspective:

      1. What is NASA?
      2. Which Station currently NASA is supporting and developing ?
      3. What are asteroids?
      4. What is Asteroid Bennu?
      5. What are Near-Earth objects?
