Marshal Islands Take On Nuclear Major Countries

April 25, 2014 by Admin Leave a Comment

  • Marshall Islands, a tiny pacific nation that was used for many US nuclear tests post World War II is filing a law suit against USA, Russia, Britain, France, China, Israel, India, Pakistan and North Korea over blatant violations of the international law.
  • It has accused them of modernising their nuclear equipments and earmarking an estimated $1 trillion over these, and has demanded that they work towards disarmament
  • Although Israel, India, Pakistan and North Korea are not parties to the 1968 Nuclear Non-proliferation Treaty, lawsuits propagate that they bound by provisions of customary international law.
