- A 10 meter of high wall of water is expected to sweep down the river from Nepal towards Bihar and the government has instructed immediate evacuation along the embankment of Kosi in four districts
- Bihar Disaster Management Department (BDMD) officials told the floods seemed imminent in Supaul, Saharsa, Madhepura and Madubani districts and the situation is most alarming
- The water flow in Kosi will come to India Nepal government has informed India as a result of measure being taken there to remove the landslide and resultant damming of one of the tributaries there
- Supaul town is in danger the most and relief and rescue operations are being planned if Kosi crosses embankment causing floods in the districts
- People are being evacuated from the region and take refuge in relief camps established by districts magistrates
- New Delhi has been informed about the impending disaster and National Disaster Response Force (NDRF) and State Disaster Response Force (SDRF) teams are reaching shortly
- The situation was developed after a major landslide over Bhote Kosi a major tributary of Kosi, landslide blocked the main courses of the river and the Nepal army is prepared to blast it to provide relief to the area and massive water will be released to Kosi
- In the past one of the most disastrous floods was experienced in Birah as the Kosi embankment by killing hundreds of people and displacing 30 lakh people and destroyed 8 lakh acres of cropland
