- The Bureau of Indian Standards (BIS) has set a few standards to the IT products which has become hindrance to the IT industry
- IT industry has requested BIS to relax on a few labeling norms
- While embossing or engraving the products takes a lot of time and is expensive rather approve for sticking the labels which is more productive and cost effective
- The decision made by the BIS was not accepted by the IT industry with most companies calling it “impractical, expensive and almost impossible to achieve in the time limit given by the BIS
- Manufacturers Association of Information Technology (MAIT) officials have discussed the issues with BIS and to make the compulsory registration order (CRO) process much more industry-friendly
