- The proposed India-Pak pipeline which will supply natural gas to Pakistan is expected to complete within 12 months.
- It will start from Gujarat and reach Punjab passing through Madhya Pradesh, Delhi and Uttar Pradesh and will also use GAIL’s existing Dadri-Bawana-Nangal pipeline network, which now extends to Jalandhar.
- It will be laid by the Gas Authority of India Ltd (GAIL), which will source liquefied natural gas (LNG) from international suppliers and then regas it at the LNG terminal at Dahej in Gujarat, for supply to Pakistan.
- A customs duty exception of 5% has been granted on regasified LNG for supply to Pakistan, under this year’s budget.
