Indian Women Employees in Saudi Express They’ve Not Really Been Compensated for Nine Months

March 23, 2014 by AmbitionIAS Leave a Comment

  • Team of Indian women (mostly from Kerala) employed as cleaners in  Saudi Arabia  went on strike.
  • Accused their employer of discrimination towards Indian Employees, as they were not paid salaries for 9 months.
  • Except Indians, workers from other countries had received payment, hence the team stopped working.
  • They were hired by an Organization to clean a hospital in Riyadh.
  • Indian Embassy has escalated this issue and taken it up with Saudi authorities

Exams Perspective:

  1. India Saudi Arabia Bilateral Relations
  2. Indian Diaspora
