- Massive explosion in GAIL operated gas pipeline passing through Nagaram village of Andhra Pradesh resulting in deaths and casualties
- The villagers hurried to a safe zone, the rest who were injured were rushed to nearby hospitals in Amalapuram, Rajahmundry and Kakinada

- Since the pipeline had laid through a residential area the villagers were angry and damaged a few vehicles at the ONGC Gas Collection Station

- Local villagers had complained about gas emanating from the area where the blast occurred, the authorities say that they had not received any such complaint
- The blast is suspected a stove had been lit at the site but not confirm yet
- Former chairman of the Indian Oil Corporation (IOC), R.S. Butola opines that the problem could have been because of structural reasons and pipelines have begun to age
