Example of Transparency by E-Governance – Election Commission

February 18, 2014 by AmbitionIAS Leave a Comment

Election Commission for Making E-Filing of Nominations Compulsory

  • The EC will now allow candidates to contest the Lok Sabha elections only if they file their nominations electronically, along with documents to support the educational, legal and financial information of their backgrounds.
  • E-filing will be made mandatory for broader dissemination of candidates’ information. It also allows other organizations and individuals to access these details online, and also makes verification process much faster.

Exams Perspective:

  1. Electoral Reforms
  2. e-Filing of Nomination paper
