Ethnic Cleansing in Sudan

April 22, 2014 by Admin Leave a Comment

  • Gunmen affiliated to Sudan’s sacked Vice-President Riek Machar, captured a key oil town and targeted people based on their ethnicity killing about 200 civilians and wounding 400 others in attacks on mosques, church, hospital and an abandoned U.N. World Food Programme (WFP) compound.
  • They also broadcasted messages over radio urging the rebels to rape women from the rival ethnic groups and force those that they consider rivals out of the town of Bentiu.
  • The rebels captured Bentiu after heavy battles and hunted down those they believed opposed them and killed both South Sudanese and Sudanese from the Darfur region.
