Eco Art Sends ‘Rubbish as Resource’ Message

  • British artist Char Evans’s eco art installation at Auroville is a way to tell corporations about waste creation by them
  • Art is driven by core motto; “‘Art changes people and people change the world,”, over 100 local and international artists and communities are engaged.
  • Installation is made up of a big bamboo geodesic dome, dance performances , informal exchanges held in course of project.
  • Project aimed at promotion of eco-enterprise through teaching and learning of skills among the participating members
  • Its main objective being to bring to fore community’s hidden creative abilities, enlighten people on issues concerning ecology and co-creation.
  • Eco-friendly bamboo, leaves, flowers, rice powder, shells, turmeric, products that can be recycled - bicycle tyres, wheels, washing machine drums etc- used
  • The idea started from London and implemented in India. Next it will be taken to Amazon rain forests.
