- As predicted by the Meteorological Department the rains in south-west monsoon can be 93% below normal, adequate measures have been taken for drought migration
- Andhra Pradesh, Punjab, Haryana, Rajasthan, Gujarat, Uttar Pradesh, Himachal Pradesh, Madhya Pradesh, Chhattisgarh, Odisha, Jharkhand, Bihar and Kerala are to be affected.
- Talks are on to provide seed and diesel subsidies to the affected States by the Union Agricultural Ministry
- Center has advised the states to go in for short-duration pulses and suitable legumes for late sowing and impart traditional sowing methods to preserve moisture in the soil and to keep their livestock cool
