- Slum dwellers in the capital has decreased and as per 2011census the count has come down by 2.5 lakh comparing the last census in 2001
- As per census 2001 the count was 20,29,755 and slum population is around 17,85,390 during the recent census 2011 said Union Urban Development Minister Venkaiah Naidu in a written reply to the Lok Sabha
- Delhi Development Authority (DDA) 632 shops remained unsold for the past 20 years which included 298 in General Category (East Zone-111, South Zone-47, West Zone-140) which remained vacant for 15-20 years and 111 shops/stalls in General Category and 223 in Reserved Category are vacant since 2011-12
- These shops that are vacant will be disposed by e-auctioning to ensure better public response to ensure transparency
