Delhi Police Start Deployment Of Personnel From Northeast
- The incident of Nido Tania, the student from Arunachal Pradesh who was beaten up to death by the locals, has raised serious concerns over the security of North East people in Delhi.
- Now, the Ministry of Home Affairs has ordered Delhi Police to add more personnel from NE in the police force. Delhi police have started to deploy them in the lower constabulary level, and their postings will be in areas where NE communities live.
- They have also requested the mainstream celebrities to come forward to bring about more awareness on this issue.
- At Nagaland House, an unofficial meeting was held to discuss on different issues related to the NE people. Celebrities of the NE and famous personalities from other regions were present. Bollywood actor Aamir Khan, Danny Dezongpa, and a few Sikkimese were among them.
