- Karnataka govt has implored the industries to employ their corporate social responsibilities (CSR) initiatives to spread awareness about Sakala services (an on-time delivery scheme for government services) to people across the state.
- This by means of awareness campaigns, becoming Sakala Mitras (ambassadors of the campaign), augment IT applications, set up helpdesks in public places, rural cyber cafes and providing solutions to simplify governance and service delivery on its online portal.
- According a survey conducted, while about 70% were aware of the scheme about 90% of the applicants were satisfied with the services.
- So far, around 46 million applications have been received under Sakala under the departments of Revenue, Transport, Commercial Tax, Food and Civil Supplies and Bruhat Bangalore Mahanagara Palike.
