Court Snubs its Attitude towards Eve-Teasing by Police, SC Directions to States to Curb Eve-Teasing

  • Despite many complaints the Delhi police has failed to work out the issues that re related with eve-teasing
  • Eve-teasing today may just be an issue that is unnoticed but later grows up to become rape, murders and acid attacks etc
  • Recently the Delhi Police has shown disinterest in an eve teasing case and the victim was forced to go back to her home town
  • By looking at this issue the court has directed the states to follow a few instructions
  • Civilian dress officials to be deployed at major junctions and various public transport outlets
  • CCTV to be positioned strategically, institutions, work place, entertainment junctions in-charge people also to adapt safety measures
  • On a complaint being made, they must pass on the information to the nearest police station or the Women Help Center.
  • Establishing women helpline in various cities and towns within three months to curb eve-teasing.
  • State and Union Territories also directed to take adequate and effective measures by issuing suitable instructions to the authorities concerned to take effective and proper measures to curb such incidents of eve-teasing.
