- People’s Liberation Army (PLA) personnel from their base towards the higher ‘New Patrol base’ post in Burtse area of North Ladakh in Jammu and Kashmir as per the a Patrol of Indian Troops noticed
- The area is deep into the Indian territory and its altitude is around 17000 feet, the Chinese were spotted after walking barely 1.5 kms from the base
- The Chinese personnel walked in Indian Territory 25 to 30km from the perceived Line of Actual Control (LAC)
- As per the Standard Operating Procedures the Indian troops returned back to their base and the troops went on patrol again to the ‘New Patrol Base’ post in the late hours along with a Quick Reaction Team
- Post that the team found no changes in the situation after which the Indian troops informed the higher ups
- Col S D Goswami, Udhampur-based Army Spokesperson denied that any such incident has taken place but they told there was no commonly delineated LAC between India and China which led to transgressions
