China FM Hopeful on Border, Says ‘More Consensus than Differences’

  • Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi says there is more ‘strategic consensus’ between India and China, expresses strong resolve, will to solve boundary issue
  • Yi calls upon India and China to not let border dispute over boundary hit ‘normal development’ of bilateral relations
  • Yi says visit to India on instruction from President Xi who will visit India by 2014 end
  • Yi says China to remain with India in its efforts to reform and usher in development, even ready to work for strategic and cooperative cooperation
  • Admits boundary issue is ‘a difficult one’. Stresses on effective management of issue till a complete solution is found, respect, accommodate mutual concerns
  •  Direct engagement between troops of two bordering countries and mutual trust between two stressed for peace along border
  • Says China is ready to share its experiences of ushering in development and FDS in China,
