- Minister of Health and Family welfare told that due to lack of sanitation and cleanliness, consumption of contaminated food and water around two lakh children are being affected
- The minister launched a campaign the Intensified Diarrhoea Control Fortnight (IDCF) at a community centre at Kadugondanahalli
- To reduce Child mortality the initiative has been pioneered, since childhood diarrhoea diseases continues to be the killer especially under the age of five
- Mr.Khader specified the need of awareness and to take preventive measures among parents and health workers , he also distributed ORS packets for children under the age of five
- Around 40.35 lakh ORS packets and zinc sulphate syrup is distributed by ASHA workers to children in primary health centres
- Safety measures is very important to prevent diarrhoea, consuming safe drinking water, improving sanitation and maintaining basic hygiene
