  • The centre justified the President’s rule in Arunachal Pradesh claiming that there was a complete breakdown of law and order and that the Congress Government had been in minority for the past several months.
  • The Ministry of Home Affairs also pointed out that the state has been witness to recurrent insurgency and threats from China to claim large parts of its territory.
  • The Centre stated that the locking of premises of the Assembly by the CM and speaker from Dec 15 to 18, 2015 amounted to ‘locking of the Constitution of India’.
