CAG Report criticises Karnataka government over levy rice collection

• The Comptroller and Auditor General of India criticised Karnataka government over collection of levy rice from mills since 2004.
• It said the collection if properly done would have made state less dependent on Centre and also could have reduced the cost of PDS in the state.
• According to levy order, rice mill owners have to share 33.3% of rice milled for levy.
