- Britain has unveiled its first official robotics strategy aimed at increasing its income from Robotics and the Automated systems (RAS) which are capable of performing without human operators.
- Under the strategy safe and efficient working of these robots in the real world and increasing people’s familiarity with them will be facilitated through real-time testing such as:
- Airfields for testing drones.
- Urban cities as testing ground for driverless cars to acclimatize and optimize object avoidance and optimal parking.
- Decommissioned nuclear plants to test for dismantling of nuclear equipment.
- New technologies such as search and retrieval of an aircraft’s black box, dismantling of nuclear equipment, optimal parking and moving a sick patient in their home is being incorporated.
- Detailed attention is being paid to the specifics that will ensure efficient functioning of the robots under their different working conditions, be it a nuclear farm or a mine.
