Bangladesh Celebrates Independence Day, Enters Guinness Book

March 27, 2014 by KRS Leave a Comment

Bangladesh enters Guinness book

  • 2,54,681 Bangladeshis performed a chorus of their national anthem to mark their 43rd Independence Day, therby creating a new Guinness Record.
  • They chanted the “Amar shonar Bongla, ami tume balobashi… (My golden Bengal, I love you)” — penned and tuned by poet Rabindranath Tagore — which inspired their 1971 liberation from Pakistan.

Exams Perspective:

  1. 1971 Bangladesh Independence
  2. Rabindranath Tagore
  3. India’s role in 1971 war
