Asafa Powell Banned for 18 Months

• World record holder Jamaican Asafa Powell has been banned for 18 months by the country’s anti-doping disciplinary panel after he tested positive for the stimulant Oxilophrine at last year’s national championship.
• Powell was dismayed at the ban and will appeal to the Court of Arbitration for Sport.
